Attended: Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee. Upper Second Class Honours in Illustration.

I have a great interest in many fields of art and particulary love to research my subjects, carrying a sketchbook with me wherever i go. During my four year Honours Degree Course in Illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, have learnt many skills along the way. These skills include cover both digital and traditional methods such as working with photoshop and indesign and experimenting in printmaking where in especially enjoyed learning photo intaglio which features a lot of my work. I am open to freelance work and exhibiting and will welcome and answer any querys you may have.

I am interested in the concept that everyday objects from the Victorian era can be found in museums and displayed in a way that protects them and treats them as delicate objects, even though they would have once been useless throwaways of everyday life. I feel as though, as modern society develops, we stray further from an understanding and interest in our ancestors and they way they lived. I also feel that as we live, we do not take a great deal of care in preserving our daily objects and personal items, which will one day become the antiques of tomorrow. By creating a collection of Victorian ephemera with the ‘twist’ being that the context of all the items is from modern life in Dundee, I strive to create a new view of such modern subjects so that they are seen as delicate pieces that should be protected inside a museum case, whilst also bringing forth both an interest and nostalgic feeling for the differing eras. This concept is one I enjoy exploring helped with my interest in art conservation, social history and the creation of believably old art.
